Women are YANG too
March 10th, 2026
“Feminine energy” has become a buzzwords in recent years.
Everybody is talking about “being in your feminine”. It has often been interpreted as showing up soft, kind, and quiet, wearing flowy, pastel dresses, high heels, or speaking with a light, chirping voice.
We confused “feminine energy” with a patriarcal-contamined image of women.
We believed that “feminine energy” is about pastel colors, love and light and soft messaging.
Of course we did. And it’s not our fault.
We have internalized patriarchy.
But let’s clarify this.
Because that is not how I have been teaching it since 2022.
As women we carry both energies.
Yes, we have YIN energy
(related to coolness, wetness, darkness, rest , quiet, softness, still, moon, night, winter, being)
But we also have YANG energy.
Yin and yang are forces, not genders.
YANG energy is hot, dry, bright, active, hard, moving, sun, daytime, summer, doing.
Being in “your feminine” is not all love and light. It is not about softness.
I don’t know why the self-development world keeps perpetuating a patriarchal idea of the “divine feminine” as something soft, gentle and flowy.
I don’t know where all the light and love came from.
Women are worriers at their core. And the “divine feminine” can be very dark.
The feminine body is built for warriorship.
Women are biologically and energetically designed to endure, protect, and adapt. Pregnancy, birth, bleeding monthly are all initiations requiring immense strength
A nervous system capable of staying present through prolonged intensity
Cyclical energy that allows rest and decisive action when needed.
Across times and civilizations we had warrior Goddesses:
-
Kali: destruction as liberation
-
Sekhmet: righteous rage
-
Athena: strategic intelligence
-
Durga: disciplined, focused power
-
Morrígan: sovereignty
Thy are not “aggressive” Goddesses (as patriarchy would have us believe).
They are fully feminine, channeling their YANG in service of life.
I don’t teach women to be “in their feminine”, I guide them toward the INTEGRATION of both energies
the healthy feminine =YIN
AND
the healthy masculine = YANG
Suppressing women’s YIN has created imbalance. And suppressing women’s YANG has done the same.
Historically, women were encouraged to:
… be soft, not strong
… nurturing, not confrontational
… intuitive, not decisive
The result I have seen over and over again?
Burnout instead of boundaries
Over-giving instead of protection
Self-sacrifice instead of sovereignty.
A woman cut off from her yang becomes exhausted.
A woman who reclaims her yang becomes sovereign and unstoppable
And maybe that’s why patriarchy doesn’t like it and why the self-development world keeps perpetuating the “misunderstanding”
Because a woman who has integrated both her Yin and her Yang is a sovereign woman. And that’s a woman hard to control (and hard to sell self-development to).
To say “women are only yin” is to misunderstand or try to manipulate feminine power.
Women are:
yin-rooted
yang-rooted
And warriors by design.
We are not here to ask for permission to take space.
